I love horsepens, although when we went last year in October, it was still a little too warm (and rainy). The one thing I noticed in your post is the laundry bit--there is a laundromat not too far from there in that little town. I couldn't tell you must about getting there except it's a little ways past the Waffle House on the right...it's on the side of a strip mall. :)

She slept in the car, which was actually perfect for her as it was a bit chilly outside. Then every couple hours I would come to walk her or play catch.
