yep, one of the better sites out there and usually giving a more 'worldly' view of matters than CNN/etc. As for the photos, I'll admit I don't check it that often as I'm usually just on the site for the news and sport but will verify that it's had some great photo highlights (of the few I've seen).
As for my usual daily photo - it's provided by the National Geographic Photo of the Day. Nothing usually to do with news but always something impressive from the world around us.
